Has anyone here gone all in on high-voltage solar for marine use? I'm talking 450V+ arrays like you’d see on a home system. I’m refitting a catamaran and want to maximize roof space, but I’m concerned about MPPT controller limitations. Any experience with the new RS series from Victron?

We installed the victron smartsolar mppt rs 450/200 https://yacht-supply24.com/catalog/marine-electrical-equipment/victron-energy-electrical-equipment/victron-energy-scc145110510/ earlier this year on our 47’ catamaran. We were initially skeptical about running such a high-voltage array, especially with salt air and heat, but the RS series has been flawless. It’s designed specifically for larger solar installations and can handle up to 450V input. One of the best features is the built-in screen and remote monitoring — we can see real-time stats on charging efficiency and individual panel performance. It also works well in cloudy conditions, which has been a game changer for our energy independence. We’re running a fridge, freezer, watermaker, and even induction cooktops almost entirely off solar now.
